The paranormal group that I work with,
the Massachusetts Area Paranormal Society (M.A.P.S.),
is featured in today's newspaper:

The Enterprise

Tuesday, September 27, 2011

My friend, Tina, passed this quote along to me and I thought it was hysterically meaningful:

"Religion is like a penis. It's fine to have one. It's fine to be proud of it, but please don't whip it out in public and swing it around and please don't shove it down my kids throats."

Whether you agree or not, there is so much truth in that statement.  I have participated in events where people came with bibles and told me that I was doing the devil's work, or told me that I was going against God's will, or some other kind of crap that made them feel holier than thou.  I've been called a witch, a charlatan and everything else known to mankind, yet I persevere.  Half of my family won't even talk to me anymore, but I keep walking my own path.  Everyone is on their own path in life.  Let them follow their heart without fear and judgment.

Remember that guy with the long hair and beard who walked on this earth a couple of thousand years ago?  He was preaching peace and love, living his life by following his heart, yet they attacked him and criticized him for his beliefs.

We all have our own path.  How about letting us walk it peacefully so that we can all seek our own truth?

“Are you upset little friend?  Have you been lying awake worrying?  Well, don't worry...I'm here.
The flood waters will recede, the famine will end, the sun will shine tomorrow,
and I will always be here to take care of you."
~ Charlie Brown to Snoopy ~

The above message was posted on my Facebook page by one of my closest childhood friends.  She didn't know at the time that I was going through a personal crisis and having a REALLY bad day.  When I read her words, a flame lit up inside me and I felt instantly uplifted and filled with love.  It's amazing how one person's random act of kindness can have such a strong effect on others.

We are all connected like a giant tapestry in this world.  What one does resonates across time and space and affects the energy of others.  With this in mind, make a habit of being more kind and less judgmental.  You might be surprised at how these random acts have a positive impact on your life, too.

Happy Chinese New Year!
Monday, February 15, 2010

Well it has certainly been a long time since I’ve written about my adventures as an international psychic medium.  I apologize for the delay – life has a way of getting busy when you least expect it…even if you are psychic!  I hope you have all been well and continue to prosper on your journey through this lifetime.

In the past year, I have found myself bringing my work to more people in the United States and beyond.  My mediumship show – “Medium Night ~ An Evening Of Spirit Communication” – has made its debut in such places as Tucson and New York City.  It has certainly been a wild ride and I’ve enjoyed every moment along the way.

I’ve had two shows in New York City at the Edgar Cayce Center in Manhattan that were awesome!  The positive energy was great and the people were wonderful.  I love New York!  Look for more shows in the future at this venue.

For my October NYC mediumship show, my husband and I were able to attend a special performance of “Billy Elliot” on Broadway and were granted special passes to go to the newly reopened crown of the Statue of Liberty.  During my last visit to the Big Apple in January, it seemed that luck was on my side.  Everywhere I went I was given something extra or received discounted pricing of some kind.  It was very cool!  At The New Yorker Hotel, the staff upgraded my room to a suite with a view.  From my bedroom I could see the Empire State Building and the dining room overlooked Madison Square Garden.  I look forward to future adventures in the city that never sleeps.

This past year has also brought me up to Maine for a series of Holistic Mystic Fairs in Portland and Augusta.  I spent the formative years of my childhood in Maine, so it was wonderful to bring the positive nature of my work to my home state.  Look for me at the next Holistic Mystic Fair in Augusta on April 10th!

Between all of the readings, parties, travelling and the numerous radio appearances, you all have made my life sparkle and shine and I want to thank you for your constant support of my work.  I have met so many wonderful people and look forward to meeting many more as we continue to promote love and eliminate fear.

Now, you’re probably wondering what this new year will bring – The Year of the Tiger.

The Tiger year is very befitting of the animal persona that it emulates.  There will be frequent bouts of forceful, dynamic and aggressive energy.  This is a good year to attack difficult issues in your life and to stand up for yourself.  Tiger energy can oftentimes make the impossible possible in your life.  Don’t cower from the Tiger – stand strong with courage befitting of a worth opponent.  Know that you have the power within you to overcome that which has weighed heavy on you in the past.  Pick and choose your battles wisely and be fair and just in your attack.  The Tiger year does not tolerate opposition, so if something is happening that is not truthful or that encompasses negative energy, fight back with justice and love.  You can overcome the confrontations of a Tiger year by always being ready for the attack with an armor of truth, justice and positive energy.  Don’t let anyone oppress you on your journey through life.

Happy New Year, my friends, and I wish you all peace and love…always.

Interview With A Psychic
Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I recently conducted a telephone interview about my life as a psychic medium, which seems to be a very popular subject around the time of Halloween each year.

Q:
As a psychic, what is your take on Halloween?

DC:  Well, I’m actually a psychic medium, which means that I have all of those cool psychic gifts and I can also communicate with the spirit world and with animals.

Q:
What is the difference between a psychic and a psychic medium?

DC:  A psychic is someone who has different intuitive gifts, like clairvoyance (being able to see the unseen), clairaudience (being able to hear what others can’t) and so on.  A medium is someone who can directly communicate with the spirit world, meaning people who have passed away, including animals, and other beings, such as angels and the like.  All mediums are psychic, but not all psychics are mediums, which means that I have the best of both worlds.

Q:
Okay, so you’re telling me that you can talk to angels?

DC:  (Laughing) I know, it sounds odd, but it’s true.  When I first started exploring my psychic medium gifts, other professional intuitives would tell me to call in Archangel Michael to protect me from negative spirits.  I thought it sounded a little odd until I did it and he showed up!  It was wild!  Then I had this experience where I was cleansing my energy with some crystals and focusing on releasing all negativity and replacing it with positive energy.  When I opened my eyes, there was this “being of light” kind of floating above me holding onto an urn.  I nodded and said “hello” because I didn’t know what else to do.  Then I kind of got the impression that I was supposed to tip my head forward.  As I did, this “being” lifted up the urn and poured this incredible, sparkling light into the top of my head.  When this happened, I could feel the most peaceful, relaxing feeling as this “liquid light” seeped all the way through my body.  It was amazing!

Q:
Do you think that was an angel?

DC:  Well, I wasn’t sure what it was, but it did feel angelic in nature.  I went online and asked a bunch of people if they had ever heard of this happening before and if they knew anything about this type of being.  Someone told me to look it up in a book of angels – kind of like an angelic encyclopedia – that I could get at the bookstore.  I started at the beginning of the book and read the descriptions about each angel, but nothing really matched what I saw.  Finally, I got to the letter “U” – they were listed alphabetically – and there it was: Archangel Uriel.  It said something like “Archangel Uriel goes around with an urn full of white light and pours it into situations where love is needed.”  Since then, I see Uriel at work on a regular basis.  It’s very cool, which is why I named my website and my business Angels of Dawn.

Q:
Do you think you see angels because you’re religious?

DC:  Not at all because I don’t practice any religion.

Q:  None?

DC:  None.  A lot of people ask me that question, but to be honest, there is a big difference between religion and spirituality.

Q:  How so?

DC:  Well, you can be spiritual and enlightened without being involved in religion.  Each religion has their own beliefs and their own rules and I haven’t really found any that fit my own personal needs.

Q:
What about the Spiritualists?  It seems like they would be perfect for you.

DC:  I’ve actually attended one of their masses before and it was interesting, but I’m just not into any type of organized religion.

Q:
Okay, so if that’s the case, do you believe in God?

DC:  Of course!  How could I do what I do without believing in any type of a higher being?  I see things everyday that I can’t always explain, but I know that the spirits around me have good intentions and are doing everything that they can to help us out.  Hey, life is tough!  It’s nice to know that angels and our loved ones still look after us after they pass.  I know that I can use all of the help that I can get!

Q:
I know what you mean.  Let’s change the subject, if you don’t mind.  Have you always known that you were psychic?

DC:  Psychic medium, please.  Actually, you can just call me a medium.  We like to throw in the psychic part so that people know that we do it all.  There are many people who think that I only speak to the dead, so I want them to know that my gifts are so much more than that.

Q:
Okay.  Have you always known that you were a psychic medium?

DC:  No, not really.  When I was a kid I always just thought I was lucky because I was always in the right place at the right time.

Q:
Did you have any premonitions as a child?  Any precognitive dreams?

DC:  Well, I can remember something that happened when I was about four years old.  I was riding in a car with my mother and my brother when I got this horrible feeling that something bad was going to happen.  I asked my mother to slow the car down, but she said that she wasn’t speeding, so she kept on going.  A minute later, another car pulled out and slammed into the side of our car.  No one was seriously hurt, just banged up a little, but that was the earliest that I can remember something psychic happening in my life.

Q:
Did your mother listen to you after that?

DC:  (Laughing) No, not really!  Hey, I was just a kid.  None of us knew that I had these intuitive gifts.  Even as I got older I still didn’t really know about it.  Even when I saw weird things I kind of chalked it up to a vivid imagination.

Q:
What kind of weird things did you see?

DC:  Well, when I was in junior high school, I can remember waking up in the middle of the night to see a ghost outside my window.  I grew up in the country up in Maine, so it was probably a little spooky anyway with all the old farms and cornfields.  When I woke up, I felt compelled to look out my bedroom window.  As I looked down the street, I saw this misty, white fog floating perfectly down the street toward my house.  The closer that it got, the clearer I could see that it was a lady wearing a flowing dress.  When I saw her, I ducked down with just my eyes above the windowsill because I was afraid that she would see me.  My eyes followed her as she just kept floating down the street and I watched her until she disappeared around the bend.  I never told anyone about that until last year because I didn’t want anyone thinking that I was crazy.  I guess I’ve come a long way since then!

Q:
When did you realize that you had these psychic medium abilities?

DC:  Weird stuff began happening to me when I was in my twenties.  Like, I would think of a question and then I would see or hear the answer.  It was weird.  I went to a couple of psychic fairs with my friends and all of the psychics told me that I had “healing hands” and psychic gifts, but I didn’t believe them.

Q:
  What changed all of that?

DC:  My paternal grandfather passed away when I was in my thirties and a couple of years later, he started showing up in my life – literally.  I would see him from time to time and so would some of my friends who were mediums.  At one point during this time, I went to a psychic fair charity event to support one of my friend’s charitable organizations.  During this event, there was a huge hall filled with psychics and mediums.  All of the tables were full except for this one woman.  I walked over and sat in her chair.  It turned out that she was a spirit artist, which is someone who is a medium and also sketches a picture of the spirit with whom they are speaking.  She immediately started talking about my grandfather and how he’d been telling me the same thing over and over again, but that I didn’t want to do it.  She spoke for fifteen minutes, sketching the entire time.  When she was finished, she showed me the picture and it was a picture of my grandfather.  I had it framed and it’s hanging near my desk.

Q:
Did it scare you when you saw him?

DC:  Not really because I grew up with him in Maine.  He was really laid back and a typical outdoorsman.  He also had his own plane that all of the grandchildren loved to take rides in.  I wrote a poem for his funeral about watching him fly overhead.

Q:
That’s sweet.  What did he say to you when he would appear?

DC:  He would say things like “you have this gift and now is the time that you need to start using it” and “you need to help people understand that they have nothing to fear”.  Stuff like that.  This went on for several months with me not wanting to do any of it.  I mean, I had three children and I was working as a professional clown, so I wasn’t lining up to become a psychic any time soon.

Q:
Wait a minute, you were a professional clown?  Tell me about that.

DC:  Well, I had been riding a unicycle since the age of nine and juggling since the age of fourteen.  I also took private lessons from a French painter when I was a child, so I knew how to paint, which I utilized for face painting.  I taught myself how to make animal balloons by reading a book.  With all of that, I decided to become a part-time clown so that I could stay home and raise my children and also have a career.  It was great!

Q:
How long did your clowning career last?

DC:  Fifteen years.

Q:
Wow!  That’s a long time.  Did you regret leaving it behind?

DC:  On some levels I did, but when the psychic medium stuff kicked in, it was like starting a new adventure.

Q:
When did the psychic medium stuff kick in?

DC:  In October of 2004, after having my grandfather “haunt” me (laughing) for several months, a friend of mine called me up to ask if I could do a favor for her.  She was working as a psychic medium and had been hired by Johnson & Wales University in Providence to conduct readings during their Homecoming weekend.  They had requested two psychics for the night, but she couldn’t find anyone to work with her because of some big psychic event in Connecticut on that same weekend.  So, she used her psychic abilities and kept getting that she should call me to help her out.  When she called, I heard myself agreeing to her request, kind of like an out of body experience.  After I hung up the phone, I started freaking out because she expected me to do five minute psychic readings for four straight hours!

Q:
  How did it go?

DC:  Well, my husband calmed me down and told me that everything would be fine.  My friend called me back and said that I could always do astrology readings if I wanted to since I was an amateur astrologer.  That eased my mind quite a bit, so I brought a stack of astrology books with me to the college.  When the first person sat down in front of me, I started seeing things and just knowing things.  It was unbelievable!  Those four hours went by in no time at all.

Q:
  That’s really incredible.

DC:  You want to know something even more incredible?  Okay, all of the psychics that were supposed to go to Connecticut that same weekend were given the wrong dates.  It was the following weekend, which means that anyone could have helped out at the university for Homecoming weekend.  That just shows you how those in the spirit world can manipulate our world to get us to do the important things that we were meant to do.

Q:
What a great story.  You must have many interesting stories being in your line of work.

DC:  Yeah, lots!

Q:
  Care to enlighten us?

DC:  I wouldn’t even know where to begin.  Wait!  I’ve seen some famous people in spirit who have passed away.

Q:
  Like who?

DC:  I’ve seen John Denver, Edgar Cayce, Mattie Stepanek and Dudley Moore.  Dudley’s been coming around since last Christmas to help me with some projects that I’ve been working on.  One time I could have sworn that George Harrison came through because I could hear him talking, but I wasn’t really paying attention, so I don’t count it as an official visit.  A lot of times people in spirit will visit me, but I’m not always paying attention because I’ve learned to kind of turn it on and off.  Otherwise I think I’d lose my mind!

Q:
How can you tell who is who?

DC:  I can see them, hear them and usually when someone comes in, I’ll receive a fleeting thought about them or it will be a barrage of thoughts – kind of like someone knocking on the door of my mind.  Then I’ll get “vibrations” on my shoulders or down my right leg.  It kind of feels like when your foot falls asleep and you get that pins and needles feeling.  It only lasts for a few seconds.  When I get those feelings, it’s like they’re “zapping” my energy to get my attention.  That’s the best way that I can explain it.

Q:
Do you have any famous clients that are still living?

DC:  (Laughing) Yes, but my client list is confidential.  Sorry.

Q:
  Anyone that I would know?

DC:  Yes, but I’m not going to tell you.  If I went around spewing out who my clients were, they wouldn’t be my clients for very much longer.

Q:
Fascinating stuff, for sure.  Is there anything else that you would like to add before we finish?

DC:  I just want people to know that love is all around them.  I feel it every day coming from the spirit world because they want us to be happy and full of love.  There is no reason for fear.  None.  Also, I want people to be careful about the psychics and mediums that they visit because there are a lot of charlatans out there.  Please be careful and use your logic.  I always tell people that they don’t need to pay someone a thousand dollars to light some kind of magical candle.  It just doesn’t work that way.  That spell stuff doesn’t work and isn’t real, so please don’t be taken by it.  Use your own natural intuition to figure out what’s best for you and if you decide to get a reading from someone, check them out first.  If you have your doubts, then don’t do it.

Q:
I’ve never heard a psychic – sorry, a psychic medium tell anyone to stay away.  Don’t you think that will hurt your business?

DC:  I’m not worried about my business.  If people need the type of guidance and insight that I provide, then I’m sure they’ll find their way to me.  It’s not for everyone and I respect that.  The world is changing and my line of work is becoming more mainstream, little by little.  Oh, and one more thing: I’ll be appearing on Comcast OnDemand later this year.  They have a new show called “Real Psychics” on their Paranormal TV channel.  It’s free to Comcast subscribers.  They also have a website, but I don’t think it’s up and running yet.  I’ll be featured on a month of “Real Psychics” mini-episodes.  I’ll also be doing some radio shows between now and the end of the year.

Q:
Sounds good.  Are you doing anything special on Halloween?

DC:  Halloween is a family holiday in our house, so I don’t usually work on that night unless someone makes me an offer that I can’t refuse.  I’ve actually been hired to conduct readings at an office building in the afternoon for their employees.  After that, it’s candy, costumes and fun!  Here’s a little secret: I’m not really into all of the horror stuff that surrounds this holiday.  I like the happy pumpkins and the kids in their costumes carrying their bags of candy.  I’ve already put together a huge bucket full of twelve different kinds of candy.  I love this time of year and I wish everyone out there a safe and happy Halloween!

So You Say You're A Psychic...
Wednesday, October 22, 2008

In my line of work, I often hear that very line over and over again.  Some people say it with curiosity, while others say it with disdain and a frown.  Still, others will sometimes reply “I’m a psychic, too!”  You never know what kind of a response you’ll get when people find out that you’re a psychic and a medium.

When I first began my intuitive profession, I didn’t tell anyone what I did or what I could do.  It wasn’t because I was embarrassed, but because I didn’t want anyone shaking their finger at me and shouting “Who do you think you are?!”  I mean, I’ve been confronted by people on a few occasions who, for some reason, think that my work is evil.  Honestly, I don’t understand that way of thinking.  First of all, these people don’t even know me!  Second, my work is all about love and hope.  Watching people reconnect with their loved ones in spirit is a joy and it gives people hope that there is more to life than what they can physically see.  I love my work and I am amazed by it every single day!

There are also people in the world who don’t believe in what I do because they don’t believe in an afterlife or a spirit world.  To them I say: Everyone has their own path in life and their own beliefs.  I will respect yours, so please respect mine.  I don’t try to convince these people of anything because what would be the point?  If they were truly curious and had an interest, then they would ask about it and become informed.  One day they will understand, but it’s not my job to make it that way.  I’ll let them walk their own path without interference.

On the other end of the spectrum, we have the people who not only believe, but they think that I know everything ALL the time.  To this I say: Give me a break!  No one on this earth knows everything, so why should I be any different?  My natural intuition is strong, but I’m only human.  Think of it like translating a foreign language – sometimes the meaning gets lost in translation and sometimes I just don’t understand the message that is coming through.  At my shows I often relate certain type of spirit communication like a big game of charades or like talking to someone in China with two tin cans and a really long string!  It’s not always easy and I do my best to be clear about the information that I receive.

When it is easy, my job totally rocks!  Talking with people who have passed is like always having a group of friends around you to support you and give you sound advice.

If I’m in a store and I pick out something to buy, I’ll sometimes hear “That really won’t look good on you” or “I would go another size up if I were you”.  And you know what?  They’re always right.  It’s true…that outfit wouldn’t have looked good on me and those pants were more comfortable in the next size up.  So, there are some fringe benefits to being a psychic medium.

Another question that people often ask me is what the difference is between a psychic, a medium and a psychic medium.  I love answering this question because it really explains to people what I can do.

A psychic is someone who has natural intuitive abilities, like clairvoyance (seeing the unseen), clairaudience (hearing what others can’t hear), and so on.  Every psychic has a different gift, but these gifts always include some form of “knowing” without being given advance information.

A medium is someone who can communicate with the spirit world, including people and animals that have passed.  All mediums are also psychic, but not all psychics are mediums.  So, medium and psychic medium are really the same thing, but we mediums like to throw the word “psychic” in there so that people understand that we do it all.  In addition to these things, I’m also an animal communicator, which is really a lot of fun.  I love it when animals make special requests to the people that take care of them.  It’s never a dull moment in my line of work!

Finally, we get to the people who like to tell me how psychic they are.  Guess what?  You are ALL psychic!  Everyone has that natural, instinctive feeling that sometimes takes over when it is necessary.  That is your natural intuition.  Some people call it “gut feelings”, but it’s still psychic ability.  Anyone can enhance and increase this natural intuition to help with their everyday lives.  Just like anyone can become a concert pianist if they practiced and had enough dedication, anyone can become more psychic by practicing and meditating.  Practice while watching “American Idol” (who will be voted off), “The Apprentice” (who will be fired) or other television shows where you can write down your answer and know the results in a short period of time.  Practice at the bank drive-thru when you’re trying to determine which line will be shorter.  With all of this practice you’ll eventually begin to identify what it felt like when you were right and what it felt like when you weren’t.  Throw some daily or weekly meditation in there and you will automatically become more focused on the energy around you.  Of course, this doesn’t mean that you’ll be doing readings any time soon, but increasing your psychic awareness will definitely help with your everyday life.  It can mean the difference between getting lost while driving and knowing which way to go.

So, now that you know all of this information, I hope you also understand that I’m doing my best to make this world a better place.  I’m not judging you and I truly hope that you’re not judging me.  I encourage each and every one of you to walk your own path and find your own truth.  If you happen to see me walking along the way, be sure to give me a wave and a smile and I’ll be sure to send some smiles and joy your way.

Let's All Vent Together!
Friday, August 1, 2008

Sometimes people suck and sometimes they don't.
Sometimes flowers bloom and sometimes they don't.
Sometimes it rains and sometimes it pours.
Sometimes we smile and sometimes we cry.
Sometimes we win the lottery and sometimes it robs us blind.
Sometimes we're the bug on the windshield of life.
Sometimes we're half full and other times we are half empty.

Whichever half you're in right now, always know that "this too shall pass".  Life has a funny way of helping us to laugh at ourselves and at each other.  When sh*t happens, laugh it off.  Every time you smile, all of the cells within your being will smile, too.  What's so bad about that?

Peace and Love,

Mercury Retrograde and All That Jazz!

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Man, has this been the WORST Mercury Retrograde in ages or what?!  Everywhere I turn systems are crashing, gadgets aren't working, deals are falling apart, people are angry and unscrupulous, and on and on.  It's been one hell of a ride!

For those of you unfamiliar with our pal Mercury, here is a quick overview.

In Astrology, Mercury is the planet of communication.  Whenever a planet goes "retrograde", its orbit appears to be traveling backward (although it really isn't) into another planet's orbit that it has already visited.  It's kind of like a reverse moon walk (Michael Jackson's creation) where you appear to be moving in one direction, but you are actually moving in the opposite direction.  Anyway, whenever Mercury goes retrograde, it messes with all of the energy that governs anything dealing with communication.  That means that ALL electronic devices - phones, computers, etc. - will be affected in some capacity, as will communications and conversations with each other.  It is never wise to sign papers or make agreements while Mercury is retrograde because you just might encounter problems relating to the agreement.  Patience is usually a welcome commodity during a retrograde because everyone seems a little touchy on a daily basis.  Has someone misunderstood you or argued with you about something silly lately?  That would probably be Mercury retrograde at work.

Let me tell you what I have witnessed so far during this time of retrograde {05/26/2008 - 06/19/2008}.

The first weird thing that was sooooo obvious was that all of a sudden, my electronic equipment kept freezing all of the time.  This began during the weekend just before the retrograde period.  You see, the energy around us is often affected a few days before and a few days after a retrograde, so I began having Mercury issues two days before.  Many of the programs that I was installing failed to work and I spent three days working on audio files that should only have taken one day.  *SIGH*

Next, my son's best friend came down with the chicken pox - even though he had already been vaccinated and without having anyone else contract them.  We still don't know the source of the outbreak.

Two days later, my oldest son fell down the stairs at school and broke his ankle - a week before senior prom and a week and a half before high school graduation!  Aggghhhh!  He was a trooper and attended all of his events and graduated in style after we decorated his cast with school stickers.  Interestingly, he visits the orthopedist tomorrow for an update - the day before Mercury begins its direct turn.

Another thing that I've noticed is that I've witnessed many unscrupulous, deceitful acts by people - both in business and in my personal life.  What gives?!  It's as if the skies rained downed a ton of manure and everyone's walking around with anger, fear, resentment or all of the above!  After two weeks of being in the brunt of this, I decided to ignore it until Mercury smiled down upon us again.

The last thing that happened to me during this time was something that also happened to me during the last Mercury Retrograde.  I'm a pretty healthy person, aside from the fact that I have Thyroid Disease, so it came as a total surprise when I started having issues with my submandibular gland.  My what?!  A submandibular gland is one of the salivary glands just under your jaw, before the curve into your neck.  It regulates the flow of saliva in the mouth.  Imagine my surprise when one day, after a week of having an incredibly dry mouth, the neck area under my jaw swelled up to the extent that it looked like I had swallowed a tennis ball!  It was totally bizarre.  The doctors ran all kinds of tests, including a Catscan, to find that I had a small blockage in my spit gland, probably caused by a stone of some kind.  The treatment?  Eat lots of sour candy to try and force the blockage out through constant salivation!  I'm telling you, only I could come down with some affliction where eating candy would heal the malady.  Apparently, once you've had this condition, it can occur at any time.

Just when I thought I had outwitted the universal mass of Mercury, my submandibular got blocked again.  *SIGH*  I've been eating sour candy {my least favorite} for three days now.  Hopefully my gland will unblock itself before I burn a hole in my tongue from all of the sour candy!

Interestingly, I've noticed that the dry mouth symptoms of my blocked gland seemed to coincide with my feelings of being subjugated by others.  People have been trying to take advantage of my good nature lately and it's been most irritating.  Instead of speaking up, I haven't, and that's when the symptoms began.  Perhaps there is some psychological relation to the fact that I haven't been standing up for myself verbally and the fact that my vocal region {mouth, throat} has been affected adversely.  I know that this is entirely possible and I actually get {psychically} that I can cure this by reacting differently to these scenarios.  Hmmm....food for thought.

In closing, I sincerely hope that none of you have gone off the deep end during this latest Mercury Retrograde.  It has been horrendous, but it will soon be ending.  By the beginning of next week {June 23, 2008}, you should all start feeling the weight being lifted from your shoulders.  Personally, I'm looking forward to it!

PS:  Happy Birthday, Mom! ♥

Love

Tuesday, April 8, 2008

I write these words today out of peace and love, for this is my wish for you.  I've been seeing and feeling a lot of Angelic energy lately and I truly want to share it with you.

Over the past few weeks, I've had enough negative energy sent my way to make me feel less chipper than normal.  Ordinarily, I'm a positive, upbeat person and I don't let adversity affect my own energy.  There are times, however, when a total onslaught of negativity will get my attention and will cause me to question the validity of my messages and the energy that flows through me.  I'm happy to tell you that each time I felt like having a breakdown, the power of Spirit came through and assured me otherwise.

The first incident happened a week ago.  I had received negative energy in the form of a threat and my mind was racing with worry.  As I began dwelling on the negativity, I could feel it bringing me down and tears began to fill my eyes.  At that moment, a man in spirit appeared next to me.  He kind of looked like the Greek God Neptune because he had a flowing white beard and hair and beautiful eyes.  He touched my shoulder and told me to have faith and repeated this over again.....then he disappeared.  When he touched my shoulder, I felt a wave of relief flood over me and I could feel my faith filling up every fiber of my being.

A few days later, I could feel the negative energy from worry creeping back into my mind.  I was feeling rundown and my positive energy wasn't as strong as it could have been.  I walked into the house and sat down on the bench with a heavy sigh.  Instantly, I saw a flash of white light out of the corner of my left eye.  When I turned my head to look at the light, I saw a tiny Angel sitting on my left shoulder.  It was so cool!  I immediately felt better and let the negativity slip away from me.

Today I was sitting at my computer after giving a client in Europe an Internet reading and I was feeling a great amount of joy from the reading.  Suddenly, I had this negative feeling of despair come over me.  As an empath, I often feel the energy of others if I don't surround myself with protective enery to prevent it from happening.  I think that I've been feeling these flashes of negativity lately because I've had to deal with some health issues that have been affecting my own energy.  As I sat there, feeling such deep despair, I heard a voice from Spirit that said "Have no fear.  Have no fear."  With each word, with each sound, I felt a huge feeling of love fill up my chest and my shoulders.  This feeling spread throughout my entire body until I just felt relaxed and full of spiritual love.  What a great feeling!

Now that I've shared these words with you, I hope that you, too, will keep the faith and let love rule your energy.  I highly recommend it and I truly want you to believe in love because love always believes in you.

April Update!

Wednesday, April 2, 2008

A warm hello to everyone!  Today's blog is just an update on my work lately.  I've been super busy with readings and new endeavors.  I'm also recovering from a bizarre health incident involving a blocked duct in one of my salivary glands.  Bizarre!

I'm looking forward to Spring and all that it entails.  Hope you're all well and at peace in the world.

United States Department of Peace

Friday, March 14, 2008

Sometimes I wonder what it will take to build a bridge of love to connect and unite our entire world.  Not just your world or my world, but OUR world.  What prevents people from knowing and understanding love?  I mean, it's not a difficult concept to understand.  How can we build a bridge of love?

Being the person I am, I see and feel love all around me.  I fill myself with love every day and pass it along to all that I meet.  I see love in every tree, on every face, under every rock and I know that it truly conquers all.  L'amour triomphe toujours.  It is there.  Why doesn't everyone see it?

I turn on the television and the news reminds me that the human race has yet to understand peace on Earth.  Why is that?  Again, it's not a difficult concept to understand.  Love one another and accept our differences without hate and injustice.  Love one another and accept our similarities without hate and disdain.  If we can accept the concepts of love and peace as basic truths within our society, then everything else falls into place.  Why would someone want to turn their back on peace and love?

Everyone comes from somewhere and they know and understand their own culture and society.  They know what is expected of them and they understand the process by which their lives are governed, whether actual or implied.  What if our lives were governed by love and peace?

I've heard of movements across this land that are trying to institute a "Department of Peace" or a "Secretary of Peace" in the United States government.  Our country once had a "Secretary of War", which later evolved into the "Secretary of Defense".  Why shouldn't we have a "Secretary of Peace"?  If this type of governmental affiliation will help to teach peaceful conflict resolution and spread love throughout our world, then what are we waiting for?

A peaceful concept such as this one is on the horizon.  "The Peace Alliance" is the campaign that is currently sweeping across our country to promote and establish a "U.S. Department of Peace".  They have received overwhelming support from city councils all around our country to help promote the concepts of peace and to reduce violence domestically and around the world.  Such celebrated individuals as Walter Cronkite, Tyne Daly, Joaquin Phoenix and Willie Nelson have spoken in favor of this peaceful movement.

I encourage you all to lend your voice to this wonderful cause that can greatly improve the quality of life for everyone in every society.  Imagine living in a world where peace is waged instead of war.  Imagine building that bridge of love to unite us all through peace and hope.  Imagine what a wonderful world it will be.

Back To Work....

Monday, January 7, 2008

Since I've taken the last three weeks off to celebrate the holidays and to relax, I'm more than ready to get back to work this week!  I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed myself immensely!  If you're wondering why I usually take such a long break this time of year, you must know that in the past three weeks I have celebrated Christmas, my wedding anniversary, New Year's celebrations and my birthday.  As you can see, it's been one party after another and loads of fun in between!

While I was on my winter break, I studied some new healing techniques utilizing hypnotherapy and the power of thought.  My Spirit Guides have been working with me in regard to these new teachings and I have to admit that I still have much to learn.  Spirit Guides are the teachers that keep on giving!  Since they're around me all the time, they're constantly reminding me when I need to read something or research something or.....whatever.  I usually don't mind, but it's nice to kick back and watch a silly television show every now and then.  I guess they figure that I've seen enough over the past three weeks.  Oh well.

I don't have much to say today except that I'm glad to be back.  I want you all to know that Angels Of Dawn will be expanding our services by offering more "Medium Nights" and additional one-on-one hypnotherapy sessions.  I will also be teaching some classes in the upcoming months.  Everything will be posted on the site when the information becomes available.

I hope you all enjoyed your holidays and that 2008 has been kind to you so far.  My reading schedule and private appearance schedule are starting to fill up again.  Be sure to book your event in advance to ensure that the date and time are available.  In the meantime, I'll see you soon!

Happy New Year!

A Christmas Message From My Spirit Guides

Saturday, December 1, 2007

Greetings to all of you!  The following message was given to me by my Spirit Guides to pass along to everyone.  {They are just too groovy sometimes!}  Here you go:

In the upcoming holiday season, you will unwrap your decorations and ornaments that say such things as "Peace", "Joy" and other loving expressions.  You will hang them on a tree, on a door, on the wall and they will stay there until they are packaged up again until the next Christmas season.

We have come forth to tell you to heed the glad tidings that you convey on your decorations.  Live the joy, hope and wonder that emanates forth from your shiny ornaments.  Let the joy that is your life come through and make it contagious for all the world to feel.  You can bring Love into the world by simply smiling and laughing with one another.  Live this joy!

The next time that you see a sign at Christmas or hear a song that declares "Peace on Earth", let that peace come from you.  Live that Peace.

The next time that you hear about "glad tidings of comfort and joy", realize that this is our wish to you.  In other words, don't just see the words on your holiday decorations - LIVE the words from your holiday decorations!  Live with this tremendous Joy and Light all through the year.  One by one, you can all make a difference and help each other to realize the Love that is all around...simply by living within the Joy in your heart.  Peace to all.

I Need A Sign....

Monday, November 5, 2007

I attended my very first Spiritualist Church service today and I enjoyed it very much.  The energy was positive and the atmosphere was relaxed.

Toward the end of the service, when the featured Medium was presenting to the gallery, I was called upon because my grandmother was standing next to me in spirit.  I'd felt her around me, but I didn't believe it when my grandmother had told me that I would be chosen during the presentation (I'm a Medium, too).  The words that were told to me by this Medium left me feeling great about my work and excited about the future possibilities.  This is what I was told:

"This work that you do is all fairly new to you.  It's not something that you signed up for and you didn't want to do it originally.  Your grandmother wants you to know that all it takes is opening up yourself......for you are a healer......but you already knew that."  {She said some other things which are personal in nature, so I have left them out.}

Usually I'm the person giving the information from someone in spirit, so it was nice to have information given to me.  I had been looking for some confirmation about my work and about bringing it up to the next (unforeseen) level.  My grandmother's words, through the energy of the Medium, filled me full of Love and Light.  I had asked for a sign and this was the sign that was given to me.

If you are confused or unsure about your "next move", I highly recommend asking for a sign.  I've done so in the past and have received wonderful confirmation from spirit in the process.  You'll know the sign when you see it - or hear it, feel it, etc.  Don't just look for something huge like a lightening bolt; signs from spirit are usually more personal and are apparent to those who need to know and understand.  Most of the time a sign is nothing more than a blessing of Love from spirit.  There's no need to read into it for some hidden message.  {No, there's no gold buried behind the barn next door.}

Remember, too, that a coincidence is a sign.  Seeing flashes of light out of the corners of your eyes is a sign.  Or even (and this is one of my favorites), finding a coin where there shouldn't be one.  This happens to me frequently.  One time I walked across the floor in my living room (which had nothing but carpet), and as I turned to walk back the same way, there was a shiny dime directly in the middle of the rug where nothing existed a moment before.  It's amazing what spirit can do for us!

So, ask for a sign.  Wait for a sign.  Look for a sign.  You will know it when it happens and it will happen when you least expect it.  I promise.

Wear Your Love Like Heaven

Sunday, October 14, 2007

It's me, blogging again for all the world to see.

Anyway, I've been perusing through the songs online and I've gone from "Instant Karma" by John Lennon to "All You Need Is Love" by The Beatles to (finally) "Wear Your Love Like Heaven" by Donovan.  Have you noticed a theme here?  The music that I choose to represent my voice also represents my mission in life.

The Beatles were right in saying "all you need is love", for love will overcome every obstacle you can ever fathom.  With true love, there is no fear, anger, jealously, envy, sadness, etc.  Love conquers all.

Hey, don't get me wrong - I'm not a perfect person and I don't belong to any particular religion.  I just know that with love in your heart and mind, anything is possible.  As a spirit medium, I see every day how people put love on the back burner and let negative emotions consume them.  It's a choice, believe me.  If you find yourself getting angry, think about something that you truly love.  Think about unconditional love.

When I talk about 'love', a lot of people assume that I'm speaking about romantic love, but that's not the case.  Love is love.  I see it in the faces of children when they are running free with their friends.  I see it in the face of adults when they feel good about something that they've done.  It's everywhere and it's growing!  This is where you come in....

....If you want to stamp out hate and all of the terrible things associated with it, then replace it with love.  If you feel negativity seeping into your thoughts and energy, instantly change it into love.  Visualize it in your mind.  Here's a simple exercise you can do:

Associate a color with 'love' - I'll use purple.  Whenever I want to bring more love into my being, I will close my eyes and watch purple light fill up my mind and my body.  When I see someone who needs hope, I will "see" purple light all around them.  I will send purple light to everyone who holds any hate or discrimination.  See how easy this is?  The more love that we bring in and send out, the better all of us will feel about everything, including ourselves.  With all of this positive energy everywhere, we can change the world.  Did you ever think that a thought and a color could be so strong?

So, wear your love like heaven because all you need is love.

Miracles

Friday, October 12, 2007

I've been in kind of a funk the past few days and I haven't been liking it very much.  Three weeks ago I was in Europe having a blast, and now I was back into "regular life" and I was really missing the excitement of my travels.  So, I've been drifting through this week with a big, heavy sigh on my shoulders.  *SIGH*

Well, all of that changed last night.  I was on my way home from a mediumship session with some clients and my car was filled with so much positive energy!  It was incredible!  As I continued driving, I felt prompted to turn on the radio, which I did.  The song that came on was "Miracles" by Jefferson Airplane/Starship (can't remember which version they were in 1975).  As the music began, I turned it up louder and louder and I could feel my own Spirit Guides coming in loud and clear while I drove.  This is what they said to me:

"Don't discount the everyday miracles in life - there are so many!  Most people look for the big miracles that will make themselves obvious for everyone to see, but that's not always the case.  In fact, there are more miracles of a smaller stature that happen every single day.  Sometimes they are noticed, but they are not always thought of as miracles."

Miracles happen.  They happen every day, big and small.  We need to see them more often and take them for what they are: miracles.  Keep praying for your big miracles to happen, but also notice the smaller ones and how they also have a positive impact in our lives and in our world.

So, please believe in everyday miracles.  After all, they come in all different shapes and sizes.

Now, my funk has been lifted and I see the miracle that is my life.  I see the hope that I'd been looking beyond and I see the adventure in my days again.  Thanks for the positive reinforcement and I hope it rubs off on all of you!

Holistic Language?

Saturday, September 15, 2007

So, I received an e-mail today that was mainly an advertisement for holistic and spiritual happenings around New England.  I usually quickly scan and delete these messages as they mostly contain the same information week after week.  Today, however, I decided to actually read the entire message.

I have to sigh as I write these words because I'm wondering why people feel the need to speak with flowery descriptive language when they are discussing holistic and spiritual topics.  Okay, make that a deep, heavy sigh.

The words went something like this:  As the dew dries upon the leafy green forest of your mind, the dawn shines the light of the angels onto the bosom of our world as we offer divine hope to all of our fellow blossoms.  Okay, so I took a little poetic license, but you understand what I mean.

Why do so many people who think and live holistically feel that they have to speak (and write) like a sixteenth century bard?  I don't get it!  I live holistically and I'm a spiritual person (duh, I'm a spirit medium), but I don't tend to speak in prose (unless, of course, I'm trying to prove a point).

Personally, I find that this kind of flowery speech tends to turn people away from the cause because they feel like they can't be themselves.  Many people, myself included, lose interest after the third or fourth line - and I write poetry!  Group this with the fact that we're talking about subjects which are often difficult for people to immediately fathom, and you'll find that it tends to put people off.  I also feel that overly poetic holistic language makes holistic professionals seem flaky and amateurish.  You wouldn't find a medical doctor comparing your colon to a garter snake swallowing a garden toad, would you?  Why should holistic professionals be any different?

I'd like to add that I don't think this really has anything to do with intelligence or intellect.  It's more along the lines of "please state your business before I lose interest and something else catches my eye."  Toss in some humor.  Throw in some satire.  Even better, just express yourself in such a way that we can actually understand exactly what you mean.  If not, you just might lose me before the message gets across.

Pet Peeve Of The Day

Thursday, September 13, 2007

I'm sure this is pretty universal, but on a regular basis I receive phone calls and door-to-door solicitors who are either trying to sell me something or that want me to donate to some offbeat fund.  Now, I'm a reasonable person and I understand that all of this soliciting is just one small part of society, but there are a certain number of these people who feel the need to degrade you when you turn them down.

The evening that my doorbell rang during the dinner hour, I knew that it wasn't Ed McMahon bringing me a million dollar check.  In fact, it was a young man who wanted to know if I had any interest in protecting our environment - mainly our water resources.  Who doesn't?  I consider myself an environmentalist and I've been known to chastise people for littering.  As a matter of fact, I have supported this young man's non-profit organization in the past.  After a brief discussion, I told him to send me an envelope in the mail as they usually do and I would be glad to donate and support the cause.  Apparently this wasn't good enough and he continued to stand on my doorstep and tell me the fundamentals of his organization.  I told him that I understood and that my dinner was getting cold and "could you please have them mail me a donation envelope?"......all to no avail.  After ten minutes I wished him a good night and proceeded to close the door.  As I was closing the door, he began shouting "Apathy will get you nowhere!  Apathy will get you nowhere!"  On that note, I looked at my husband and decided never to support this organization again.

Just the other day I was working on the computer taking care of some business when my telephone rang.  The caller on the other end identified himself as representing the "Disabled Police Officers Association".  Now, please allow me to backtrack a little.

I receive regular telephone calls from the "Police Widows Association", the "Retired Police Officers Association", the "Police Union Association", and from a fundraising company that regularly raises money for our current local police department.  I also receive calls from the "Firefighters Association", the "Firefighters Widows Association", and so on.  Interestingly, I receive more calls from police associations than firefighter associations.

Whenever I receive these calls, I inform the caller that  I  1) can't afford to donate to all of these police associations, or 2) ask them to take my name and number off their list so that they don't call me again in the future.  It's not that I don't support our local law enforcement.....I totally do!  However, these people make a hell of a lot more money than I do, plus they receive incredible benefits and pensions.  Why do they need my extra money?  I know someone who is a police officer and he earns $130,000 a year!!  He and his family also have 100% medical and dental benefits.  Hey, I truly believe that he earns his money, but I don't see the need for all of this extra fundraising.  I pay my taxes and I support my city and all that it entails.

Okay, now that I've vented, let me tell you what the "kind" gentleman said to me when I asked him to please take my name and telephone number off of his list.  He said "You must have a heart of gold, ma'am.  Have a nice day," and then he hung up on me.  Hmmmm.....do you think his words of 'shame' provoked me into donating to his "charity" or any other organization that I don't feel comfortable with?  Nope.  The only thing it did was give me something to write about.  Have a nice day.

Is There Anybody Out There?

Tuesday, July 31, 2007

The question that bounces through my head at the moment is this:

If I wrote a blog, but no one was around to read it, does it still have meaning?

How very Zen!  Anyway, I hope to elaborate and participate on this blog in the near future.  I also plan to find more words that end in -ate.
