A Message from the Spirit World by Dawn Carr, C.Ht.
As a psychic medium, it’s my job to be the liaison between people on earth and people in the spirit world.I accept it wholeheartedly and I enjoy the positive energy that connects these two worlds.On Halloween Eve of 2008, a special message came through from the spirit world that also offered physical proof of the existence of that world.
The evening began with a special Halloween performance of my show entitled “Medium Night ~ An Evening of Spirit CommunicationTM”.During this show, I conduct gallery mediumship for the audience, which is similar to the styles of John Edward and John Holland, if you’ve ever witnessed their performances.I stand before the audience and begin by describing the person who is coming through from the spirit world and then I bring through their messages to their friends and loved ones in the crowd.It’s always a wonderful, uplifting experience for me when this happens because these messages come through with love, compassion and comfort.
On that evening, the show was purposely being held in an old building that was built in 1892.The energy was incredible as the spirits came in one after another with messages for the audience.Halfway through the show, a male spirit came through who showed me that he was hit with something heavy.I felt like his name began with a soft “G” or “J” sound and I announced these descriptions to the audience.A man seated next to me stated that he recently lost a friend to a tragic train accident.With this confirmation, the man in spirit directed me over to this man, who turned out to be Wayne Nye, a paranormal investigator and spirit photographer.
Wayne Nye’s nickname is “The Cemetery Guy” because of his work with genealogy research and the paranormal.As a local “ghost hunter”, he is a member of the Massachusetts Area Paranormal Society and investigates paranormal activity with them at various locales around New England.Spurred on by his interest in the paranormal, he also partakes in spirit photography, which is the practice of obtaining photographs that contain images of the spirit world.On this night, Wayne was about to receive a message from his recently deceased friend who also came through with physical proof of his afterlife visit.
The man’s name was Joseph Doherty and he was only forty one years old when he was struck by a train as he was taking his nightly walk near the tracks in Braintree, Massachusetts.The accident occurred on October 18, 2008 – twelve days before this mediumship event on the evening before Halloween.
As the man in spirit continued with his communication, I related to Wayne about how this man was in the wrong place at the wrong time.His death happened quickly and with great force, but he said that he didn’t feel a thing because of the suddenness of it all.His mother and another woman were there to greet him after the accident and to explain to him what happened.At first, he was shocked by it all and tried to communicate to his friends and loved ones that he was okay, but they couldn’t see or hear him.He was happy to be able to come through on this night and to talk to his friend at the mediumship show.
Joe continued speaking through me as he told Wayne that he would be appearing in one of Wayne’s spirit photographs.He said that it would be obvious because his image would appear in the lower right-hand corner of the photo and it would be different from the other photos that Wayne would take that day.With this message, Wayne turned white as a ghost and stated that he took a photograph that fit that description on that very day.
Earlier in the day, Wayne and his M.A.P.S. paranormal group were investigating the old building where the show was to be held later that night.In the upstairs hallway, he lit a candle and placed it in the center of the floor so that he could take some pictures.He stepped back from the candle, squatted down and was about to take a picture when a bright blue orb came zooming down the hallway toward him.
An orb is a common form that spirits will take in photographs and if anyone is lucky enough to see one in life, they often appear to be blue in color.I’ve experienced this before and it is quite amazing to behold.
When the blue orb came toward Wayne, it brought with it a gust of wind and he began to fall back from the surprise of it all.As he fell back, he snapped a picture and felt the orb as it flew by his right side.He developed the picture a short time later and was delighted that he was able to capture the image of the blue orb.What he didn’t know was that the orb was his friend Joe paying him a visit.
After the show that night, Wayne approached me with the picture that he had taken earlier in the day.There it was: the image that Joe had described so clearly.The orb was huge and it was located in the lower right-hand corner of the picture.Wayne confirmed that it was unlike any other picture that he had taken that day.He also added another bit of information during our discussion.His friend Joe had heard about my show and he had planned on buying tickets for that evening’s performance.Joe did, in fact, attend, but not in the original way that he anticipated.
We never know how those in spirit will get their messages across, but be sure that when they do, they will always find a way that is both comforting and amazing at the same time.

The Game of Life By Dawn Carr, C.Ht.
There have been many times when people have come up to me and have asked me why we are here and what their purpose is in this life. When these questions are asked of me, I tell them my story about "The Game of Life." This explanation is suitable for young and old and I've found that children especially enjoy hearing about life from this point of view. This is also a simple way to explain reincarnation and déjà vu.
Before we come into a lifetime, we get together with other souls (most of whom have reincarnated with us before) and we choose a game plan of what each one of us wants to learn and accomplish during this particular lifetime. When this has been chosen, then we decide what we all want to collectively learn and accomplish (as a group, family, friends, etc.). We take all of this information and create our game plan. When we have devised our game plan, we break it down even further and we all choose roles. For example, one says "I want to be the mother." Another says "I want to be the cousin", (best friend, next door neighbor, college roommate, etc.) until everyone agrees upon which roles would be the most beneficial for their life plan and for the game plan. Then, with the help of each other and help from a "Council of Elders" (experienced, wise entities that help supervise our charts), we each create our own life plan that is inserted into the game plan. You can look at the life and game plans as being the big game board that the game is played upon. Each plan is connected to the other plans in some way.
When all of the plans and roles have been decided and agreed upon, everyone gets ready in their own way, whether it be learning additional information, rehearsing, or having certain "trigger" points embedded in our minds. A trigger point works something like this: "Okay, I agree that when I'm walking down Center Street at 2:00pm on May 4, 2007, that I will look up and see a huge blue jay sitting on the branch of the tree above me. As I'm walking and looking at the blue jay, you'll come walking around the corner and accidentally bump into me. When this happens, you'll say something that will make me remember that I need to take a class that I read about that will play a significant role in my future."This is known as a "trigger" because it triggers or recalls a memory of something that you need to do at a certain time in your life.
After everyone has prepared for the game, then they all wait their turn for the time that they come into their life (when they are born). When you come into your life, the game begins! It's like a big adventure. When your lifetime is over, you go back to the Other Side/Heaven, which is our true home, and everyone says "Wow! Wasn't that an awesome game?!" "What did you learn? I learned....". Once you become acclimated to the Other Side/Heaven, then you study the different aspects of that life. You talk about how you grew as a person, what you learned, how you might have handled something differently, what your intentions were, and so on.
We play this game over and over again with different roles and scenarios that help us learn and grow in the Light of God/The Creator. This is why we reincarnate over several lifetimes. There are no losers in this game because we all learn and grow in some capacity. Also, when we experience déjà vu, we are simply remembering the game plan and our life plan, thus explaining why we feel like we've done or seen something before. We saw it before we came into our lifetime.

As a psychic medium, I can't always control it when information comes through. Selective intuition isn't easy, so it is much to my family's chagrin when I give away the plot of a movie or ruin a joke by blurting out the punch line. This isn't something that I do deliberately, but I will admit that I thoroughly enjoy it when I turn out to be right. Thus was the case recently at the movies....
We all wanted to see "Hancock", the new Will Smith movie about the nonchalant superhero, so we decided to take an afternoon and spend it at the cinema. Now, my teenage daughter makes it a point not to sit next to me because she knows that at some point during the movie, usually early on, I'll whisper something in her ear that will give away the plot. My boys don't really care if I whisper to them, but they choose to sit together away from me, so they aren't always within whispering distance. My husband, on the other hand, enjoys sitting next to me and holding my hand. He also doesn't mind it when I whisper, as long as it isn't incessant - which it never is. During the first ten minutes of {ironically} "The Sixth Sense", I blurted out "I know the plot of the movie!" To which he responded "Well don't tell me!"
The movie "Hancock" captured our attention and kept us amused...and then it happened. About thirty minutes into the movie, I leaned over and whispered something intriguing about Charlize Theron's character that I received psychically. I don't think he believed me at first, but as the plot unfolded, he saw for himself that what I told him turned out to be true. After the movie, on our way back to the car, I shouted "I am the best psychic ever!" - which is something that I like to do when my family witnesses me having a successful psychic event in my personal life without even trying. Moments like that make me feel like a superhero!
I like to tease my children that I should be on the television show "Heroes" because of my "Psychic Superpower" {my humorous terminology}. We watch the show every week when it's on, but we still haven't seen me make any guest appearances. *SIGH* One day I will be discovered and asked to save the world. I just know it! The cheerleader had her chance.
When I was a child, I loved the show "The Six Million Dollar Man". I watched it religiously and even joined the fan club. Part of my ten year old brain knew that if I practiced enough, I could also run as fast as a car or jump as high as a building. I spent every day jumping over fences in the cow pasture behind our house and running up and down nearby hills. Each day I gave myself a new task to learn and I wouldn't move onto something new until I had mastered the previous assignment. I was, in essence, my own superhero! My friends and family will attest to the fact that I was an incredible athlete, but I never quite got as far as jumping over buildings or lifting trucks above my head. I guess I'll have to save that for another lifetime.
In this lifetime, I get to be "Psychic Girl" and save the world with my intuition! Okay, so it's not as glamorous as having super strength or even flying, but it does have its practical advantages. I can find lost things; know things before they are announced; tell people information about their future; talk to people after their physical death {my personal favorite} and so on. I guess the best thing about my "superpower" is that I use it to help people, which is all I ever really wanted to do. So, the next time someone shouts out "It's a bird! It's a plane!" - think of me and remember that superpowers come in all different shapes and sizes.

I woke up this morning with the song "Writing" {by Elton John} playing in my head. So here I am, trying "to instigate the structure of another line or two" as the morning unfolds.
A common theme keeps popping up this morning. It began when I inserted "Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" in the CD player because, of course, I had to listen to the song in my head on actual speakers! While the title track plays, the chorus repeats the line that declares "with a desperate desire for change". As I was singing along and checking my e-mail, the daily horoscope unfolded by telling me that my "desire for deep change is triggered today...". Hmmm.....there's that "change" word again. Next up, I talk to a friend online about finding loose change in my car. What? More "change"?! Then the words come to me and I've found my "inspiration for navigation", as Bernie Taupin would say.
It's never too late to change. As a matter of fact, people who are always updating their thoughts with different points of view are usually more progressive than those that always remain the same. Studies have found that people who expand their thinking with new information are happier and are more likely to maintain their mental capacities longer in life. We've all seen the news reports about the 90 year old who received their college degree or the Wall Street tycoon who gave it all up to dig wells in a third world country. These people have looked at their lives and have decided that they wanted a change. This same story repeats itself in all facets of life - like the banker father in "Mary Poppins" who decides that his family is more important than some perceived self-image, so he changes his life. The great French chef Julia Child changed her life and found fame at the age of 49 when her bestselling cookbook was published. Her award winning television show began two years later at the age of 51 years. It's never too late for change.
Mary Ann Evans, whose pen name was George Eliot, once wrote "It's never too late to become the person you might have been." This is so true! People are changing their lives on a regular basis. There are those who once had addictions that are now clean and sober. Take me, for example. There was a time in my life when I didn't think I could live without cigarettes. I felt like no one could help me and that I was doomed to a life of addiction. With a little divine intervention, I have been nicotine-free for two years. It's never too late to change!
So, for those of you who needed a little inspiration today to start off your week, I hope these words work for you. Gandhi once said "We must be the change we wish to see in the world". I totally agree and encourage all of you to do the same. It's never too late for change.

Visits From Spirits By Dawn Carr, C.Ht. Thursday, January 17, 2008
In my line of work, many people ask me about my interaction with the spirit world. They often ask me what people look like in spirit, how they sound, how they communicate, etc. I tell them that most of the people that I see in spirit look and sound the same way that they did while in human form, although they sometimes choose to show their age from a specific time in their life.
For example, my great-grandmother Anne will pop in from time to time and when she does, she appears at a much younger age wearing different clothing. As a matter of fact, the first time that she visited me I didn't even recognize her! It was late during her first visit and I was tired. Plus, I was in one room and she appeared in another room, so my vision wasn't quite focused. I knew the woman who appeared was named "Anne", but since I was so tired, I simply told her that it was late and she really couldn't be in the house if she wasn't "of the Light". Anne hung around for another minute before disappearing into the night. The next day, she appeared again, but this time I recognized her energy. Her first line to me was...."I am of the Light". That will teach me for chastising my own great-grandmother! Her big joke now whenever she visits is to start with "By the way, I am of the Light". Silly me!
I've also been asked about famous people in spirit. I will admit that I've seen a few. One time during a deep meditation, John Denver came in to teach me about something that I needed to know. That was pretty cool! I've also been visited by Edgar Cayce, who helped me pass along some useful information to one of my clients. He also popped in one day when I was having a terrible headache and was being really melodramatic.
I had been having bizarre headaches for a few weeks and they were getting worse. After visiting three different doctors and even having a Catscan, no one could find anything wrong with me. One day during my month of headaches, I was in pain and distressed that I had a brain tumor and was dying. (Yeah, I was being that melodramatic!) I threw myself down on top of the laundry pile that I had been sorting, clutching my head and thinking about the worst case scenario. As I rolled over on the laundry pile, there was Edgar Cayce standing next to me. He told me not to worry because I didn't have a brain tumor. He also said that the headaches would be going away soon and that I shouldn't worry about it. I thanked him for his kindness and he nodded and disappeared. Within a week and a half, the headaches were gone.
More recently, I've had a few interesting experiences with spirit.
A few days before Christmas, I was feverishly wrapping presents while my children were at school. I sat on the floor with Christmas wrappings and gifts all around me while the television blared a Christmas movie that I had never seen before. The name of the movie was "Santa Claus - The Movie" from 1985. I was half watching and half wrapping when I looked up to see one of the stars of the movie standing next to my Christmas pile. It was Dudley Moore! Before I could say a word, he said "You know, this isn't one of my better movies."
"Hey, you're Dudley Moore!" I said.
"I know," he said. "Do you mind if I hang out here for a little while?" I told him that it was fine with me. So, he stayed around and watched me wrap presents and chatted a little about Christmas. He spoke about someone named "Catherine". I haven't figured out who she is yet. Following this impromptu meeting, he said "goodbye" and disappeared.
Now, before I continue, I have to explain that it's not uncommon for experiences like this to happen with mediums. I've heard of it happening to others, as well. I know of a medium who has received visits from spirits while watching their situations unfold on the show "Unsolved Mysteries". I even had two spirits appear in my living room while watching one of those paranormal investigation shows. They were the spirits who had been attempting to contact one of their loved ones on the show, but the people on the show weren't quite getting the messages correctly.
Getting back to Dudley Moore....
A few days later, he came in for another quick visit. This time I told him that he had to prove to me that he was the real Dudley Moore and not some kind of spirit imposter. With that, he smiled and winked at me, then he disappeared. For the remainder of the week, I was suddenly flooded with Dudley Moore references. It was wild! I would turn on the radio and there would be a reference to him. I would turn on the television, only to have a character named Dudley talk about how he wanted something "more". (Get it?!) The references were everywhere! After about three days of this, I told my husband about Dudley and all of the coincidences. He thought that it was really bizarre. Well, a few hours later, we were half asleep on the couch watching TV. The show "Friends" came on and guess what woke us up? The character Phoebe cut Monica's hair like Dudley Moore's instead of Demi Moore's hair. My husband jumped up off the couch and started repeating "Oh my God! Oh my God!" in total surprise. He has no doubt that the spirit who kept visiting was the real Dudley Moore.
The last time that I saw Dudley was right before my birthday a few weeks ago. I was doing laundry and he popped in for a quick visit. He placed a penny on the floor in front of me and told me to keep it as a remembrance of him. I picked up the penny and I could feel the positive, soothing energy that it emitted. I thanked him for the coin and he smiled and was gone.
The coin is sitting on the desk next to me. It's not a shiny penny and you can barely make out the year of "1981". I call it the "Dudley Penny" and I put it in my pocket every now and then when I feel like I should.
I am grateful for all of the visits that I receive from Spirit. It happens every day and I have more stories to tell you in the future. In the meantime, I will let you know if Dudley stops by for another visit.

Visualization, Energy and Kirlian Photography By Dawn Carr, C.Ht.
As many of you know, I'm a spiritual person and I consider myself blessed to be able to do this kind of work because I enjoy it so very much. I never take my gifts for granted and I truly feel like I'm just the conduit through which the energy and information flows from The Creator. I'm fond of saying "I'm just the megaphone for Spirit."
While I travel along my spiritual path in life - always a student of the Higher Power - I find myself learning more and more useful information. Having said this, I know that it's sometimes difficult to fathom the "unseen" energy around us, so I'd like to share with you a visual example of this "unseen" energy.
Kirlian Photography is a color picture of your aura - otherwise known as the energy around you. Since our energy changes from day to day based on our moods and such, the energy within the picture will also change accordingly. The experiment that I conducted is a perfect example of the way our energy changes and how we can actually influence and change this energy through visualization and energy manipulation.
Visualization is used in many things, including meditation, and can also be used to manipulate and change the energy around you. I often teach people how they can increase the positive energy around them through visualization. It's a very real thing because visualization comes from the mind and everything that comes from the mind contains energy. Everything actually contains energy, but for the time being, we will focus on the energy of the mind, body and spirit.
In the first Kirlian (aura) photo below, I simply sat still and didn't really focus my mind on anything. You can see the spiritual energy highlighted in purple above my head. You can also see the energy of one of my Spirit Guides highlighted in yellow on my left side. It's almost like my Guide posed for the picture!

In the second photo below, I invited my Spirit Guides into the picture and I also called in and surrounded myself with White Light and Love from God/The Creator. In doing so, I visualized myself with White Light all around me. In other words, in my mind I saw myself inside a protective bubble of White Light which brought positive energy into my own energy (aura). You can see the difference in energy as the bright yellow colors above my head symbolize the White Light. The yellow that is positioned next to me and in front of me are my various Spirit Guides posing for the picture.

As you can see, I manipulated the energy around myself by visualizing certain things around me, which brought in a great deal of positive energy. I chose White Light energy because this type of energy contains all of the colors of the spectrum, which acts as a positive, protective shield against negative energy. So, in the future if you would like to bring more positive and/or protective energy into your own energy field, I strongly recommend visualizing White Light energy around you. I've never known it to fail and now you've seen the actual visual proof of this "unseen" energy. It truly works!

Spirit Golf - August 9, 2007
I had a very interesting experience today while playing miniature golf with my husband and my youngest son. It was a beautiful day, full of sunshine with low humidity, and it was nice to be enjoying the fresh air.
On the sixth hole of the course, I was told by someone in Spirit that I would get a hole-in-one before we reached the eighteenth hole. I announced this to my family who looked at me kind of skeptically. At the ninth hole, I hit the golf ball and the ball moved right, left, straight, right.....it turned four times before it went in for a hole-in-one! My son's jaw dropped at the insanity of the golf ball's path. He said it looked like invisible hands were guiding the ball - like something he would see in a cartoon. It was awesome! Instances such as this always put a smile on my face because even though they were having fun, the Spirit world was also showing me that anything is possible with them. I'm just glad that I had two witnesses who are able to verify this incredible experience. Spirit golf is waaaaay cool!
